Home > Alternative treks to Machupicchu > Ancasqocha trail machupicchu 5/4
The Ancascocha Trek to Machu Picchu is a challenging 5-day adventure through some of the most spectacular mountain landscapes around Cusco. This lesser-traveled route is an excellent alternative for travelers who want to experience the Andes away from the busier trekking routes.
The journey takes you through remote valleys, high mountain passes, traditional Andean communities, ancient Inca sites and dramatic views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks. Along the way, you will discover the beautiful Ancascocha Valley, cross the Huayanay Pass, visit Paucarcancha, and eventually continue toward Machu Picchu.
Unlike the Classic Inca Trail, the Ancascocha route offers a more rugged and adventurous trekking experience. It is best suited to travelers who are physically prepared for long hiking days and high-altitude terrain.
With Inca Land Adventures, your trek is operated by a local Cusco-based team, including professional guides, cooks, porters and horse handlers. Our goal is to combine responsible trekking, personalized service and authentic Andean experiences from the trailhead to Machu Picchu.
