Santa Cruz Trek 4 Days Itinerary – Detailed Day-by-Day Adventure
Day 1: Huaraz – Cashapampa – Llamacorral Camp
Your Santa Cruz Trek begins with an early morning departure from Huaraz, driving through the scenic Callejón de Huaylas to the trailhead at Cashapampa (2,900 m). From here, you start trekking along the Santa Cruz Valley, following a gentle ascent alongside the river.
The trail passes through narrow canyons and gradually opens into a wider valley with impressive mountain views. After approximately 5–6 hours of trekking, you reach Llamacorral Camp (3,760 m), where you will spend your first night surrounded by dramatic Andean scenery.

Trekking time: 5–6 hours
Day 2: Llamacorral – Alpamayo Base Camp View – Taullipampa
After breakfast, continue trekking deeper into the valley, passing the stunning glacial lakes Ichiccocha and Jatuncocha—perfect spots for landscape photography.
Today offers breathtaking views of the famous Alpamayo, often considered one of the most beautiful mountains in the world. You will also enjoy panoramic views of Quitaraju and Artesonraju.
After a scenic hike of 6–7 hours, arrive at Taullipampa Camp (4,250 m), located at the base of impressive snow peaks.

Trekking time: 6–7 hours
Day 3: Taullipampa – Punta Unión Pass – Paria Camp
This is the most challenging and rewarding day of the Santa Cruz Trek. You will ascend toward Punta Unión Pass (4,750 m), the highest point of the trek.
From the summit, enjoy spectacular 360° views of the Cordillera Blanca, including Taulliraju, Rinrijirca, and surrounding glaciers—an unforgettable highlight of the journey.
After taking time to rest and capture photos, descend gradually to Paria Camp (3,800 m), where you will spend your final night in the mountains.

Trekking time: 7–8 hours
Day 4: Paria – Vaquería – Return to Huaraz
On the final day, enjoy a relaxed descent through picturesque Andean landscapes and traditional villages. You will pass through Vaquería, where your private transport will be waiting.
From here, drive back to Huaraz via Portachuelo Pass, offering stunning views of the Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Negra.
