Day 1: Huaraz – Cashapampa – Llamacorral Camp (3,760 m / 12,336 ft)
Your Santa Cruz Trek begins with an early departure from Huaraz. Travel through the scenic landscapes of the Callejón de Huaylas toward Cashapampa, the starting point of the trek.
After meeting the trekking support team and preparing your equipment, begin hiking into the Santa Cruz Valley. The trail follows a mountain river through a narrowing canyon before gradually opening into a broad Andean landscape.
As you gain elevation, enjoy views of rugged slopes, native vegetation and the surrounding mountains. Your guide will establish a comfortable pace and provide opportunities to rest, drink water and take photographs.
In the afternoon, arrive at Llamacorral Camp, where the team will prepare your campsite and dinner.

Today is the most demanding day of the trek. After an early breakfast, begin ascending toward Punta Unión Pass, the highest point of the Santa Cruz route.
The trail climbs through high-altitude terrain, with increasingly expansive views of the Cordillera Blanca. At the pass, take time to appreciate the surrounding glaciers, rugged ridgelines and impressive peaks, including Taulliraju and other mountains in the region.
Weather permitting, the pass provides outstanding opportunities for panoramic landscape photography. Conditions at this elevation can change quickly, so follow your guide's instructions and allow enough time for the descent.
Continue toward Paria Camp, where the team will prepare your final night in the mountains.
Trekking time: Approximately 7–9 hours, depending on conditions, pace and the confirmed camp location.
