Day 1: Cusco – Huchuy Qosqo – Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes
Early morning departure from Cusco
Your adventure begins early with a private transfer from your hotel in Cusco to the trailhead in the highlands above the Sacred Valley.
After a short briefing with your professional guide, we begin our trek through the spectacular Andean landscape. The route offers panoramic views of the Sacred Valley, surrounding mountains, agricultural terraces, and traditional Andean landscapes.
Huchuy Qosqo Archaeological Site
Our main destination is Huchuy Qosqo, an impressive Inca archaeological complex located above the Sacred Valley. Your guide will explain the history, architecture, terraces, and importance of this fascinating Inca settlement.
Take time to explore the site, photograph the stonework, terraces, mountains, and surrounding valley before continuing our descent.
Descent to the Sacred Valley
We continue toward the Sacred Valley along an ancient Andean trail, enjoying changing landscapes as we descend from the highlands.
After reaching the Sacred Valley, we continue by private transportation toward Ollantaytambo.
From Ollantaytambo, we board the afternoon or evening train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo).
Upon arrival, check in at your hotel or hostel and enjoy a relaxing evening.

After an early breakfast, we take one of the first buses from Aguas Calientes to the entrance of Machu Picchu.
