Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Wasai Lodge – Tambopata River

Morning/Afternoon: Arrive in Puerto Maldonado, the gateway to the southern Amazon. Your Inca Land Adventures guide meets you at the airport or bus station. We transfer to the river port and board our boat for a scenic 2-hour journey up the Tambopata River to Wasai Lodge.

Evening: Settle into your eco-lodge accommodation surrounded by primary rainforest. After a welcome dinner, enjoy a night walk to spot nocturnal frogs, insects, and possibly snakes or tarantulas. The symphony of the Amazon begins at sunset.

Day 2: Wasai Lodge – Private Conservation Concession – Tambopata National Reserve

Dawn: Wake to the calls of oropéndolas and exotic birds. Early risers enjoy sunrise by the river with coffee from our viewpoint—prime time for Amazon birdwatching and photography.

Morning: After breakfast, cross the Tambopata River by boat and trek through Wasaí's private conservation concession. With luck, spot monkeys, huanganas (wild pigs), and agoutis. We'll also try piranha fishing and visit local sustainable plantations to learn about rainforest agriculture.

Midday: Return to lodge. Optional kayaking on the Tambopata River or fishing for 250+ fish species.

Afternoon: Boat journey deeper into the Tambopata National Reserve—pristine landscapes with minimal human presence. Spot capybaras, caimans, turtles, and with exceptional luck, jaguars resting on beaches.

Morning: Return to camp for breakfast. Beach exploration and swimming in the river (safe areas only).

Late Morning: Pack camp and boat back to Wasai Lodge, spotting wildlife along the way.

Day 5: Wasai Lodge – Puerto Maldonado – Departure
